Welcome to the Rhine State Museum and the Centre of Antiquity Trier
There are lots of impressive Roman buildings in and around Trier where you can get a close-up look at life in ancient times. They give you an insight into Trier’s Roman past as one of the biggest cities of its time. You can discover Trier’s ancient heritage in the Roman buildings and also the Rhine State Museum Trier. There is nowhere else in Germany where you can find such authentic remains from the Roman era. You can also explore the Roman history of the region around Trier. There are guided tours, modern information centres, video animations and media guides explaining the history of most of the Roman buildings.
As part of the ‘ServiceQualität Deutschland’ quality certification programme, the Centre of Antiquity in Trier was awarded Level II. This puts the Roman monuments and the Rhine State Museum Trier among just under 500 tourist service companies in Rhineland‑Palatinate to obtain this ‘ServiceQualität Deutschland’ certification as evidence of their consistent quality management and the continuous improvement of their services. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to receiving your feedback.
